Ahhhh the good old days ...I couldn't afford one at the time up here in the north east. I did see one at "Robie" Ford in Dorchester, Ma. I went there to buy a 67 Mustang . At the time they were doing 427 set up in them. On the showroom floor was a red 427. They wanted $6800 from what I can remember. My Dad looked at it an was "interested" in the car. Mom looked at it an said it was to small ...She bought a new Lincoln the next week. $6800 was BIG $$$$ back then. If she did buy it, it would be the lowest milage car out there

OK, we've all heard about 427-powered Mustangs. People everywhere have been saying that they swear they've seen one of these elusive big-block-powered Mustangs throughout the years. While we can finally verify that there were never any factory-built 427 Mustangs, thanks to Kevin Marti of Marti Auto Works and his diligent research archives from Ford, there's always the possibility that someone or some company, to be more precise, did in fact build a 427-powered Mustang. During a recent foray into our library for archival material on another story, Editor Ford stumbled across this ad in the June '67 issue of Super Stock and Drag Illustrated. The ad from Robie Ford's Robie Power Center in Dorchester, Massachusetts, states you can have your Mustang built with a custom-built 427 ci and add "quads, headers, gears, a Hurst, and more" in street or strip versions. In talking with transplanted Bostonians, we've been told the Robie Ford building is still at 370 Columbia Road but now might be a Lincoln-Mercury dealer. L'image est plus clair mais ont apprend pas grand chose de nouveau, Marti auto work ne peut dire combien il y en a eu parce-que c'était vraiment fait maison chez Robie Ford, aucun 427 n'a été installé à l'usine dans une Mustang 1967
